I know, it’s football season and we are all getting our recipes together for the big game tailgate, but my sport of viewing choice is Baseball. When I think of baseball in the winter as I am waiting out the snow and ice to melt in Northeast Ohio, I dream of a trip on my travel bucketlist: Spring Training.
Play Ball! These two words transport me to my hometown minor league ballpark on a warm summer evening. I’ve just consumed my weight in barbeque, peanuts, churros and beer. I am cheering on my team to strike out the beer batter so I can get a half off beer. At the end of the game the crowd waits for the highly anticipated fireworks show sponsored by the local water company.
This same experience is happening all across America in any number of hometowns that are lucky enough to have a minor league baseball team.
Now let’s kick it up a notch, Spring Training! Something that is on my travel bucket list, is it on yours? Whether it’s the Grapefruit League in Florida or the Cactus League in Arizona
